MCKINLEY GRADE SEPARATION - CORONA, CA
Meroe Engineering provided CM services including Structure representative for the construction of steel tied-arch bridge grade separation. The improvement allows for vehicles to cross over a main local street, water canal, and rail-road tracks uninterrupted in order to reduce traffic, increase safety, and improve access to local businesses. The steel structure was erected on temporary supports adjacent to the final location prior to being moved into place using self propelled modular transporters. Approximately 43,000 SF of MSE panel wall, 13,000 SF of architectural treatment, and 1,100 CY of cast-in-place retaining wall was constructed in order to allow for the grade separation and ramp widenings. The project contained 5 foot columns on 7 foot CIDH piles with ground water and caving soils. Private and public utilities required relocation including water and sewer lines; communication lines; and irrigation. Grade crossings included work over BNSF railroad right-of-way.

CALIFORNIA HIGH SPEED RAIL (CP1) - FRESNO, CA
Meroe Engineering assisted Orito & Associates, Inc. in providing project management servies including Senior Oversight Field Manager for the construction of the main guideway and public infrastructure improvements through the Central Valley. Lead a team of 10 field engineers to perform oversight for TPZP and subcontractors performing contract and change order work. Performed oversight of field activities, prepared daily diaries, prodied input of PCM monthly reports. Lead the development of a materials testing plan, special inspection tracker, and field oversight checklist. Performed oversight of contractor internal and independent QA/QC programs. Reviewed monthly progress payments, submittals, project schedules, project documentation, and non-conformance procedures. Coordinated with representatives from the City of Fresno, and the Caltrans. Reported to the Construction Oversight Manager and the Authority regarding construction status, program management, and issue resolution. Grade crossings included work over BNSF, SJVRR, and UPRR railroad right-of-ways.

180 BRAIDED RAMPS - FRESNO, CA
Meroe Engineering assisted Orito & Associates, Inc. in partnering with RL Brosamer/Walsh in constructing the State Route 180 Fresno Braided Ramps.
The braided ramps headlined news in the California central valley as one of the largest design-builds to ever be implemented in the state with total project and related costs nearing $70 million. Meroe provided quality assurance construction managment for critical point activities.
The scope of work included nearly 2,000 feet of post-tensioned box girder bridges with several miles of JCPC paving, soundwall, and barrier rail.
The project was completed in 2013.

CIRCLE DRIVE BRIDGE - PASADENA, CA
Meroe Engineering provided falsework design for Powell Constructors. The designpertained to a 200 foot concrete, box-girder bridge for Circle Drive over Virginia Road in the City of Pasadena (Los Angeles County). Circle Drive was completed in 2016 and allowed residents to safely cross a historic city route.

SOUTH MILLIKEN GRADE SEPARATION - ONTARIO, CA
Meroe Engineering assisted Orito & Associates, Inc. in partnering with Danken Engineering Group for the South Milliken Grade Separation in Ontario, CA. Meroe provided quality assurance inspection and local structure representative duties for the highly anticipated overcrossing near the CA-60 Freeway in Ontario.
Construction is being performed by Griffith Construction the structure overpass and is scheduled to be completed in 2016.




NORTH VINEYARD GRADE SEPARATION - ONTARIO, CA
Meroe Engineering assisted Orito & Associates, Inc. in partnering with Danken Engineering Group for the North Vineyard Grade Separation in Ontario, CA. Meroe provided quality assurance inspection and local structure representative duties for the highly anticipated undercrossing near the Ontario Airport.
Construction was performed by Ortiz Construction for a precast girder rail-road bridge. Top-down construction was performed allowing for the installation of a temporary UPRR railroad shoefly track; 70 foot long and 4 foot diameter CIDH piles; and a sloped fascia wall.
The project was completed and opened to the public in 2016.
